Profile information: rider preferences (including the optional Driver Preference), saved places, and profile photo if you provide one. Driver applicants provide legal name, date of birth, address, license details, and vehicle information.

Location information: precise device location and GPS coordinates while a trip is in progress, and, for drivers, while you are online and available, to enable matching, navigation, and live tracking.

Trip information: pickup and destination addresses, route, distance, duration, fare, timestamps, ride PIN, and ratings.

Payment information: payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we retain limited tokens and transaction records necessary to operate the service.

Device and usage information: device type, identifiers, app activity, and logs to maintain security and improve the service.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

• Match riders with drivers and facilitate trips;
• Calculate fares, process payments, and issue driver payouts;
• Provide the optional Driver Preference feature based on driver availability;
• Verify identity, run background checks for drivers, and support the Safety Center;
• Send transactional notifications (e.g., driver nearby, trip started/ended);
• Investigate incidents, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations;
• Improve and personalize our services.

3. Legal Basis

We process your information to perform our contract with you (providing rides and payouts), to comply with legal obligations, and based on our legitimate interests in safety, security, and service improvement. Where required, we obtain your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We share information only as necessary:

• Between riders and drivers for a specific trip (e.g., name, pickup, contact);
• With Stripe and other service providers under appropriate agreements;
• With background-check and verification providers for driver onboarding;
• When required by law, court order, or to protect safety and rights;
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to confidentiality.

We never sell your personal information.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Driver background-check records are retained as required by applicable law.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Sensitive operations run on secure server-side systems with role-based access controls.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may opt out of marketing communications at any time. 8. Driver Preference Feature

The optional Driver Preference lets riders request a woman or man driver in supported markets. It is fulfilled only when a matching driver is available and is never guaranteed. We use gender category data solely to support this feature and do not use it to discriminate unlawfully against any rider or driver.

9. Children's Privacy

The service is not directed to children. Riders must be at least 18 years old, and drivers must meet applicable age and licensing requirements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, and analytics. You can control cookies through your device or browser settings.
